Water Reducing Super Plasticizer

Water Reducing Concrete Admixture

ULTRACON-58 is a concrete super plasticizer based on sulphonated naphthalene formaldehyde polymer for the production of free flowing concrete. The product may be used as a Concrete Waterproofing and substantial water reducing agent in concrete for promoting high early and ultimate strengths.

Complies with IS: 9103: 1999, ASTM C-494 Type F, BS 5057 Part III – 1982.

  • Production of self compacting, flow –able concrete .
  • In complicated form work and sections heavily congested with reinforcement.
  • Pre –cast concrete elements.
  • For high early strength concrete .

  • Concrete of similar work ability can be produced with 25% less water.
  • Helps in reduction or elimination the need for compact.
  • Water reducing properties help in achieving increased compressive, tensile and flexural strength of concrete.
  • High early strength helps removal of the form work/ mould early saving in time.

As Ultracon-58 has a wide range of application, the dosage can vary between 0.3% to 2.0% by weight of cement i.e. 150 ml – 500 ml per bag of cement of higher grade of concrete 500 – 1000 ml per bag of cement. It is beneficial to evaluate Ultracon-58 dosage by field trials to establish the exact requirements.

Ultracon-58 is compatible with all types of Portland cement and sulphate resisting cement. Incase other admixtures are to be used they must be dispensed separately. Do not premix Ultracon-58 with other admixtures.

Ultracon-58 should be added to the concrete mix with mixing water directly into the mixer. Water reduction in higher if the Ultracon-58 is added to the concrete mix after 50% to 70% of the mixing water has been added.

Do not add Ultracon-58 to dry cement.

A severe over- dosage will result in

  • Increase in the workability of concrete
  • Retardation of initial setting time
  • Does not affect the ultimate concrete strength
  • Slight increase in air entrainment

Minimum shelf life of 12 months in unopened original container protected from sunlight and temperature extremes.

Ultracon-58 is water based and non- hazardous. However, it should not be swallowed or allowed to come in contact with skin and eyes.
